No known threats to the species, although considered “vulnerable” in the Red List of threatened animals in Singapore (Wildsingapore.com, 2008).

The species live in areas where there are coral rubble and coral reefs, therefore it may affect the population indirectly if the availability of coral reefs decline in the future.
